I don't wanna be your "boo," I just wanna email you.....
I don't wanna be your "boo," I just wanna email you...take heed you Internet daters.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35338085...age/?GT1=43001 Now, there’s a new online annoyance — the person who doesn’t want to meet but is all too happy to e-mail, text, tweet, IM, or scrawl on your Facebook wall indefinitely. They don’t want a real relationship as much as its virtual doppelganger. Welcome to the world of the “elationship.” |
For some, the fantasy is better than the real deal
|
someone close to me experienced this. they wanted a real relationship but the other person seemed content with just the online experience and was just a user imo.

Like I needed another reason to not pursue internet dating. But I agree, the guy who's all about you one night IRL and does nothing but text for the next month is annoying. I'm seriously considering telling the next guy I meet that I don't have a cell phone just to avoid that kind of isht.

An older acquaintance of mine was dating a guy who was a texter. She really liked him (she shouldn't have--different topic) and he wouldn't answer her calls. But, he damn sure would text her right after she called or he would do nothing but text her for weeks at a time. Lame and she was an idiot for putting up with it. 33girl: I think telling the guys that you don't text is a good idea. Make them call you like I have to call my parents who don't know how to text and don't give a darn about ever learning how to. :) On a nondating note, I actually didn't really start texting until about a year ago. It used to be that I would ignore texts completely until I called the person or the person called me. I stopped being that way because not wanting to text apparently made me a disagreeable bitch. |
I've been that person at times in my life. That person who really just wanted some lighthearted, flirtatious interactions without any commitment or reality. I was always clear that's all I was interested in though. In particular, when I was really sick (but not yet diagnosed) from the Crohn's. I was living a hellish existence and had nothing to give but online chat. I wasn't well enough to get out and socialize, but am a very social person, so online flirtations were great for me at that time.
More often, I think those people are married though. |
But Little32 don't sleep on the women that will text you (miss you in the morning, thinking about you around noon, a just saying hi around 3pm, hitting you with a wateva around 5pm... and a I should have known you won't issssh around 7) just because they text you on flight or when you left your phone at home:rolleyes:!

I kind of am!
I mean..... I just thought I had a lot of platonic relationships and bromances that didn't need to be taken to any other levels. At least it's mostly people who are out of state. :) |

Had one of those. Wanting to talk on the phone all the time, several times a day, texting, etc., but when it came to actually doing something in person it became vague. Had to tell him you're wasting my time and then he had the nerve to get mad and say I was over reacting, and is STILL texting me on some "how's the job search going, yadda, yadda"...at 2 in the morning! What part of you're wasting my time wasn't clear? And we aren't cool like that to text me in the wee hours of the morning. Hell, my friends can't text me at that hour unless it is an emergency.
