Stand/casing/something to display & protect a tall bamboo plant

I have a 4-foot tall bamboo, with three brand new plants growing from the roots. Unfortunately, my cat loves to chew it, so I have to keep it in my laundry room and shut the door. The plant is fledgling now; I can't keep the temp in the right range in that small room.

Does anyone know where (or what kind of search terms I would use) I can find some sort of stand that will house the plant (protect it from being toppled over by kitty), but allow the top 18" or so to pop out and flourish? At the bottom of the vase it's in are glass pebbles; I water it regularly.

I grew this plant from a relatively small specimen. I'd hate to let it die or get rid of it!!

I just typed out a whole page of stuff and it disappeared. arg!

Okay so basically what I wrote...

I imagine your plant looking something like this but taller: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...e87/bamboo.jpg

I spent some time looking at plant stands but they all look like a cat could easily topple them over. Another idea I had was to switch to a tall planter.

There are some modern looking ones here: http://www.plantcontainers.com/i-pedestal-planters.php
but I'm sure you could find other tall planters through google.

Best of luck to you.
