Are you male or female?

Girl?

Well, If you will be going through Pan rush the week before classes I have a few pieces of advise.

WATCH YOUR GRADES!!! Make sure you have a fairly strong GPA and if theres time join some other on campus clubs.

GET RECOMMENDATIONS! Even if you dont know anyone personally there are a lot of Alum Groups that will write one to every chapter on your behalf. If there is not one in your area contact the Orlando group. They helped me a lot last year. Just email/ call them. (http://winterpark-orlando.tripod.com...icassociation/)

HAVE PRESENCE AT RECRUITMENT. Show them who you are and what your worth. Having presence and memorable conversation will take you far.

MOSTLY, STICK WITH IT AND HAVE AN OPEN MIND. I do know two girls who went through as juniors this year with decent GPAs, no recs, and what one called "lousy recruitment convo" by the third day they only had one house left.. it was the same house and they both ended up pledging them. One was excited since she opened her bid, the other thought so hard about dropping and me and some of her sisters convinced her to stick it out and she LOVED being initiated this month and now cant see herself anywhere else.

All in all just have fun, use common sense, and show them what an asset you can be ;) Good luck!

My biggest advice for you is to keep your options open. Way open, in fact! When I was at UCF (many, many moons ago), it was tough for a junior to get a bid. I can't imagine that it's gotten any easier. Many chapters will probably cut you on the first day regardless of your grades or personality. You still have another semester until you rush (and the summer too). I'd try to get to know some of the girls in each of the chapters - but not in a creepy, stalker kind of way! ;) We had a few of those...... If they're in your classes, talk to them and see what they're like. Let them get to know you outside of recruitment so that you have that "in" before you rush.

Best of luck.

Be very open minded and realize cuts will and do happen, but give it your best shot, cuz you never know where you will end up, if you wanna pm me feel free :)
