Student-Athlete

I'm an athlete for my college a track runner and I'm really interested in joining a sorority however I have a hetic schedule and I feel as if the girls will not understand. Will it really affect my process if anything

Lots of athletes join fraternities and sororities. They understand that you have other obligations and that those obligations are paying for your education. You will miss out on some things but they should always be excused. The chapter I advise have had members on the volleyball team, the synchronized swim team, the band, cheerleaders, dance line, etc. It's no different. Just be up front about it and all should be fine.

There were student-athletes in every sorority and fraternity chapter on campus.

We can't know exactly how it will work out for you. That's for you and the chapter to work out. Keep in mind that there are parts of the "aspirant-to-new member process" that you ideally should not (some of which you absolutely cannot) miss. Hopefully you all will figure out with your schedule--it will most likely involve not having any free time outside of class, athletics, and the fraternity. You may be exhausted. But, it's worth the commitment. :)

We have a sister who is pursuing an engineering degree, active in track, and my sorority - its possible. She even invites us to cheer her on at track meets!
