Possible new Chapter in Toronto?

I am hoping to start a new affliated chapter at my school. There's currently 2 sororities and 2 fraternities at York University in toronto but unfortunately officially recognize fraternities and sororities deflect students from participation in the College system...:( Any help or pointers. I've already read about expansion on NPC but its like i said they wont want a bunch of national sororities on campus. Its also the 2nd largest university in ontario from what i've heard so recruitment shouldnt be that bad:)

What's wrong with Delta Psi Delta and Delta Pi?

Also if you mean you want a sorority that's going to be recognized by York,
it ain't going to happen.

Nothing is wrong with them it would be nice to chose from just two. One of which is largely based on judaism.

I was pretty sure that was not going to happen. I believe that both those sororities are actually fighting for that very cause. I could be wrong.

Ha,
I'm not even sure it would be in DPsiD's best interest,
maybe even Delta Pi's (not sure) to get recognized by the University.
There would be way too many restrictions that would make them have to change their operations.
If they are in fact going after recognition,
they aren't very smart.
Also,
their membership consists of people from all three Universities.....

I have no idea they might come through on top. Its been a decade now since they the put regulation 5 in place and considering how many strikes they've had in that time alone I think they should at leats hear them out.

I thought it was only york and ryerson?

It's been 50 years since U of T has kicked sororities and fraternities off campus.
At most Canadian universities (scratch that) Canadian University Student Councils will recognize the 'club' that is governing the fraternities/sororities.

Here's the York U page.

2 NPC sororities at York have folded there: AEPhi and SDT.

You should try to get to know the 2 sororities before you decide neither are for you. Set up a meeting to go for coffee with each of their rush chairs and then if you really, really don't click with either, then maybe it could be in your best interest to start a new chapter or colony. But keep in mind, nobody is going to recognize your chapter unless you're offering something that dpsid and dpi aren't. they're both WONDERFUL sororities with great reputations and i think you should give them a chance ;)

^^^ The OP's post is 10 months old. She seems to have moved on (maybe, kind of).
