Brotherhood Retreat
I saw the sisterhood thread, but realized men and women are completely different creatures.
I was elected this semester as Chaplain, and part of my duties include organizing retreats for the brothers in my fraternity. The past chaplains have been less than spectacular and have never done any serious group building retreats. I think a good retreat should include a good amount of fun stuff meant to help unwind for a weekend, but still enough trust exercises that we grow together as brothers. The plan so far is to go camping on about 80 acres of woods that is owned by my family. If anyone has any group building or fun group activities that a bunch of guys would think were dumb, I could use all the help I can get. As we are a small fraternity, you get bonus points for activities that aren't too expensive. Thanks in advance |
Our retreats are always some combination of Ritual, hanging with alumni, bonfires, and drinking (be it kicking back a few cans or a few cases).
We don't really do any brotherhood bonding events at our retreats. Just hanging out with our brothers is enough. But, we do a TON of stuff at EDGE (new member camp, basically). It's non-stop team building exercises pretty much. I'm using some of themas a regular part of the member development program now. I'll look through my stuff and put them up when it's a decent hour of the day... |
