Salute to 2009, Hopes for 2010
It's been a rough year for many GCers. In hopes of getting everyone fired up for 2010, I'd like to hear 3 things that were good for you in 2009 and at least one new thing you hope will happen in 2010.
I'll start! 2009: 1) Our first 2 grandchildren were born! 2) We hosted our first 2 exchange students and liked that so much that we have 2 more this year. 3) My middle schoolers competed in a Spanish competition against high schoolers and blew them away (HAHA! So *there*, private schools, somos piratas!) 2010: I might go to Central or South America for a few weeks and take some more Spanish courses. How about y'all? |
1) I started grad school
2) I met Hockey Dad 3) Both of my kids got all A's 2010: Hoping and praying that my ex-husband gets a job early in the year. |
1. Started a wonderful new job
2. Reconnected with many friends from High School and College 3. Never once got sick 2010: Going to France, hopefully in May. |
1. Went to a pledge class reunion, seeing some friends for the first time in almost 15 years.
2. Cheered on my TCU Horned Frogs to a 12-0 season and secured tickets to the Fiesta Bowl next week 3. Made it the whole year without a trip to the hospital for my 2 year old (he has bad asthma that required 3 different hospitalizations before he was 14 months old, as well as ER trips too numerous to count leading up to his second birthday) 2010: seeing my brother *finally* get married, and to a wonderful person no less. The psycho, free-loading, rude, and ungrateful ex-fiance is becoming more and more of a distant memory. Thank God for that! |
2009
1. I got a puppy! 2. I finally made it through a very difficult class that I had been avoiding. 3. I haven't been sick all year. 2010 My sister is trying to adopt a little girl from Russia. I'm praying that there aren't any snags and the adoption goes through. I'll be going with her to Moscow in a few weeks and I'm so nervous! |
2009.
1. I made it through my Army training and got promoted when I finished it. 2. My kids all did well in school. 3. I got to go to the UK and see my parents 2010. I'm going to enjoy this year at home as I will likely be deployed in the beginning of 2011. |
2009:
1. Ended a great job and began a new one-the first full year I've been employed since graduation 2. Fulfilled last year's resolution of being more social 3. Spoke to my father, haven't done that in years (actually did that a few hrs ago) There are other things I can't remember or won't mention. 2010: 1. Apply and get into graduate school (for real this time) 2. Kick my romantic life off (last date was in 06, last relationship ended in 03) 3. Build some kinda relationship with pops 4. Take a vacation (a real grownup vacation with friends, or a spring-break type vaca since I never did in college) 5. Celebrate 5 years of greekdom with my line. |
2009:
Celebrated one year of remission. Won a very long, very expensive legal battle. Had family and friends as support nearby 2010 More surgeries scheduled for January, April, June. I am really hoping it can be finished before my surgeon moves away from the area. And as for the surgery next week, I am really hoping no infections or complications will occur. I don't ever want to see another leech on me again. |
1. I ran my first marathon.
2. My little sister joined my sorority and I went to her initiation. 3. My husband graduated from law school and passed the Virginia bar exam. For 2010 -- I really hope my husband finds a job as a lawyer. |
2009:
Graduated from Law School Passed the Bar Exam Bought my first house Accepted an appointment as chapter advisor 2010: First chair a trial Improve the firm's marketing Do right by my chapter as an advisor Maybe join a community orchestra. |
