Sherlock Holmes
Was awesome!!! I haven't seen a lot of movies but the previews looked great and did not disappoint. I would consider buying the dvd. :D
I've heard really mixed reviews. Some critics thought it was great and some thought it was terrible. I've wanted to see it since I first saw the previews in theaters a few months ago. Oooh maybe I can talk my bf into going to see it tonight...
I think I will see it this week. Robert Downey Junior is great.
sidebar: just saw the previews for Iron Man 2, and I am looking forward to that too. |

saw it....loved it....will buy the blu-ray!!
Saw it Boxing Day, thought it was amazing! 5 stars for sure
Saw it, liked it...nice set up for part II with Moriarty.
Loved it! But how can you not love anything Guy Ritchie has done? (Minus Swept Away obviously).
Thought the first hour or so was terrible.....I actually fell asleep. Second half was better, but in hindsight, I wouldn't waste my money again.
Went to this movie as a compromise. I wanted to see Nine or The Princess and the Frog, and my friends wanted to see Avatar (which I want to see, but not in 3D because 3D gives me headaches.) I LOVED it and will DEFINITELY own it.
I liked it a lot.
Holmes & Watson were definitely hitting it. :) |
I liked it a lot. Then again, always enjoyed Robert Downey Jr's work.
I liked it. I wasn't going to go because of the previews-they seemed too action packed, but my brother and sister-in-law wanted to go and invited us. I'm glad I went.

Speaking of... Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes is still at the top of the box office charts. People are loving Robert Downey Jr as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson, but there might not be a sequel if Holmes loves Watson. Could Holmes be gay? According to Total Film, in an interview with David Lettermen, Robert Downey Jr wondered if Holmes was actually a "very butch homosexual." This comment did not sit well with Andrea Plunket, holder of the U.S. copyright to Sherlock Holmes. “I hope this is just an example of Mr Downey's black sense of humour," she says. "It would be drastic, but I would withdraw permission for more films to be made if they feel that is a theme they wish to bring out in the future. "I am not hostile to homosexuals, but I am to anyone who is not true to the spirit of the books.” Would it make a difference if Holmes were portrayed as a homosexual? Is this untrue to the "spirit of the books"? If it is, then is Wildstorm's current Victorian Undead comic, in which Holmes fights zombies, also untrue to his original spirit? |
I thought Sherlock Holmes would be public domain by now.
