Secrets/Rituals for New Sorority

I know the rituals and secrets are kept secret but I am in an organization that is just starting and we are in desperate need for some ideas and help. I don't want or need to know what organization you are in, but I am in some desperate need of guidance. If anyone could please give me ideas and assistance as to where to start when developing our own rituals and secrets.

I am looking for insight in to everything so any help would be greatly appreciated and needed! If you would rather respond in a message that would work too!

Thanks!!

I am a part of Epsilon Delta Upsilon it is a co-ed fraternity, we are looking to develop rituals and such but we have no idea where to start and what to do, and I thought coming here people could offer insight and places to start to develop our own rituals. If you could help I would really appreciate it!

you are in the position to make everything original and meaningful. why would you give this up? if you feel that you must model after others, then simply
do a little research. some if not all orgs have a secret motto, and meanings behind their colors and other symbols. i think that if i were founding an org, i'd think about why i'm forming the org and what its supposed to mean to me, and go from there. it should be a matter of what's in your heart than what's out there. that's just me though.

Another case of putting the cart before the horse.

There must be some reason why this fraternity was started. Think about it and then do some research.

Agreed. Think about what being part of a brotherhood/sisterhood (since it's co-ed) means to you and what aspects of that are important to you (community service, diversity, etc.) and then build your organization around those principles. THEN figure out what symbols, colors, letters, etc. would exemplify those ideals.

To be fair, it's not completely unheard of for founders to have help from more established greeks, but the internet is not the place to find this help. Do you or any of your other members have close, trusted friends in greek organizations? That would be who you'll want to ask.

As in the case of many early sororities, I would enlist the help of a close friend whom is in a fraternity or sorority. But unless you want your ritual being very under-par I would really only talk to someone who is almost a scholar in this field. Someone who knows history, symbols, even masonic ideas, etc. Your ritual will be based off of what your organization believes in and is expressed in symbolic form.
