Needed advice- Rushing as a Junior

Hi all,

I am currently a sophmore at UNT, and I am interested in rushing. However, this semester my GPA took a turn for the worse due to several reasons, which I now regret. But, I am determined to improve my GPA in the Spring semester. I am pretty sure that having a GPA below a 2.8 will ruin my chances of getting into a sorority for the Spring semester, and I don't think it's worth trying to rush since I don't have the grades to prove myself. I just wonder if there is hope for me to rush as a junior in the Fall semester, and still go through the process and receive bids. Is it? Joining a sorority has been on my mind since my freshman Spring semester, and it is something I find myself constantly thinking about because I see how involved on campus they are, and I have seen how large the greek life is, and it makes me want to be apart of it. Any advice?

Ohhhhhhh my. Having a GPA that bad would probably make houses disqualify you as a freshman. But rushing as a Junior and having that GPA? I'd save myself the hassle, because it would not turn out well. Normally, even in non-competetive universities, you should have a stellar resume if you're rushing as a Junior. Just my $.02.

Pledge the library, seriously. If your grades come up maybe you'd get into a sorority, maybe you wouldn't, but you'd still have high grades and graduate which is the point of college anyway.
