Sweetest Day
 

For those that don't know, Sweetest Day is on Saturday, October 20th. I've been single on every Sweetest Day since I have started dating. I know that I am not the only single person on here, so everyone that's single represent. And to all of you guys that have someone :(, Happy Sweetest Day!

This is one holiday :rolleyes: that I don't even fool with. Heck, Valentine's Day is enough. But the whole country doesn't even do Sweetest Day, from what I've been told. Anywho...

This Sweetest Day, I'll be having a SisterSlumber. We're going to start the day early with community service with Habitat for Humanity (well, I suggested this, I'm sure it'll get shot down, lol, but I will force some folks into service, lol). (SIDEBAR: CT4, you wanna come? :) I got the info from the WOP ministry. END OF SIDEBAR) Anyway. After that, we are just going to sit around and empower each other. Talk, cry, talk, laugh, laugh, hug, maybe watch some movies, eat, talk some more til we fall asleep. I can't wait!! We have been seriously needing some sister-to-sister time. We haven't had a First Two At Howard U get-together in a MINUTE. CT4, what's up with that??? ;)

But I digress...

I think if you're single, hook up with your single friends, and go out, have fun, don't sit around and think about your single status.

So, littlelady, turn that frown upside down!! :)

What is "Sweetest Day"???? Can you explain for those of us who are not at cultured as you (that's what college will do to ya)????

I worked at a card store for a semester, and I still cannot tell you exactly what Sweetest Day is. It's basically just Valentine's Day in October, (Otherwise known as"A way to make Hallmark some extra cash"). When I worked at the card store, all of these guys would come in and buy gifts for their girlfriends. It's a sweet holiday if you have someone, but if you don't it's one day that you wouln't mind forgetting is coming up. Luckily my campus has it's homecoming this weekend so I'll be able to have fun instead of think about it. Mabey I'll meet someone to spend next Sweetest Day with. ;)

Well, at least your excuse was that you were single during this time...

How about I haven't been single on ANY Valentine's or Sweetest Day for 5 years... I haven't gotten anything either.

I will be going into my 6th year... Finally single... And I am doggone glad I don't have anyone. At least there'll be a reason why I am not getting anything (except for dating an immature/inconsiderate man). :rolleyes:
