Ok so im pretty quiet on campus...I've been invited by a well known Kappa to become a Kappa Diamond. Is this a bad thing??? Will this hurt me later?? I'm a big girl I can take the truth but facts only please.

No...do it and come back in May and tell us all about it.

Ok, I am not in my lane. I am on a bicycle on the interstate. But wouldn't the Kappa Diamonds be all sorts of upset that she referred to their group as "non Greek"? I remember this being a giant bone of contention when our NIC groups still had little sisters and they weren't invited to the All Greek Picnic.

Actually this sounds like a little sister group, which is not even allowed.

Quick recap:

The NPHC fraternity "little sister" groups all pretty much reorganized into their own incorporated organizations, which are usually known locally as "Non-Greek" orgs to distinguish them from GLOs. (Since you theoretically could be in an NGO and a GLO, but I wouldn't advise it to the OP because everybody knows that Kappa Diamonds are sluts.)

Serious question, how do they get around the whole little sister thing because most of the NPHC fraternities are also NIC.

They are independent organizations now -- what's there to get around?

Seems like there is still a real link between the organizations.

I think Vito & I are on the same page. If you're independent and no longer supporting KAPsi, why keep calling yourselves Kappa Diamonds?

You can be an independent organization which still has an informal relationship with another organization.

Yes I understand that, but the OP said a Kappa asked her to become a Kappa Diamond. Seems kind of iffy to me.

I already said they were sluts. Do we really have to have an intellectual conversation about it at this point?

Are there other groups who are sluts? Are there groups who are skanks, hoochie mamas, or something else?
