Transfer Question!
If I rush a new sorority at my current university in the spring semester and get it, would I be able to transfer as a sister into that same sorority at another university the following fall even if the one I initially rush is a colony.
|
Some chapters/groups do not take transfers automatically. And even if they do, you might get there and really not like the girls at the chapter at the new school, or vice versa.
Also, depending on the timelines, if you join a colony, you might not be an initiated sister by the time you transfer to the new school, and then the group has no obligation to you whatsoever. Wait until you get to your new school to rush. |
How do you know that you will get into the sorority that will have a colony at your new university in the fall?
|
This depends on the sorority policy as well as the policies of the chapter you are interested in transfering to.

And...I went back and read the original post....I did read it wrong, thanks for the clarification!:D |
Either that, or rush is over, and there's a colony recruiting in the Spring that she's interested in, esp as she knows there's a chapter at the school she's transferring to. Which is legit, I guess, but I would still say don't because you may not click with the girls in the new chapter.

OP, some orgs do not obligate their Chapters to affiliate transfer members. Are you willing to take the a chance of being a sophomore alum at your new campus? Some make the member wait at least a semester in order to see grades before even considering affiliation. Are you willing to have a semester of not being active with the possibility of still not being asked to affiliate?
