Let me rephrase what I meant by open sororities. An open sorority is a sorority that allows members of any college to join. If there are any in the Los Angeles area plus leave a post.

I believe that some of the NPHC (historically African-American), and several Latina, Asian-American and multi-cultural groups have what they call city-wide chapters. The 26 member groups of the National Panhellenic Conference only have chapters associated with a particular university. So, if you go to say, University of NE-Lincoln, but the sorority you are interested in is at UN-Kearney, you would have to transfer to Kearney to become a member.
