Alabama preview weekend 2010
 

Alabama has posted the panhellenic preview weekend as March 27, 2010. Do the PNM's need to have recs sent to the houses prior to this date, or wait till summer? If those of you involved at Bama could post a timeline, that would be great. We are oos, so have no contact with local Alabama alum groups, but are diligently contacting alumnae for recs.

In addition to recs, should the girls included transcripts now, or wait until graduation for a complete one?

Panhellenic Preview weekend is primarily for getting to know the girls (PNMs and actives) and what sorority life is like. Folks typically aren't looking (yet) at resumes, grades, etc. Though they will start checking Facebook, etc as soon as a PNM hits their radar. Remember crude comments, alcohol pix, and the like can harm a PNM. If need be, clean it up NOW!

Recs typically are sent May-July. To help the Chapters stay on top of things, earlier is better because July is what I call the "Rec Flood". Transcripts should be sent with the Rec, along with a resume and pix. Chapters want the final spring transcripts to make sure someone didn't suffer from senioritis. Also, make sure that the HS sends the UA a final transcript as soon as it is available. UA provides a verified list of all PNM GPAs to the Chapters.

Thanks Zillini for your information. We'll be ready by spring with recs, just a couple more to go!! Looking forward too to being back on campus for the preview weekend. D knows 1 girl at UA and she is greek, so maybe she'll get to attend at least 1 extra event that weekend.

Do you know if legacies are invited to private events?

:eek: I'm guessing if they are, it certainly isn't going to be publicized on the internet. That would violate all sorts of Panhellenic rules. If daughter goes to a regular alum event with mom, that's a little bit different.

Catfan, please re-read my reply in your earlier thread. One thing has changed though since I posted that. It has been decided to hold Crimson Tidings every other year on the Sunday following the Alabama vs Auburn when it is played in Tuscaloosa.
