Auburn: Sigma Alpha Epsilon Does Drug Testing
Wow. I haven't heard of this kind of thing being done anywhere. Interesting approach?
See Auburn Plainsman article at http://www.theplainsman.com/pages/fu...ews_lead_story Brief excerpt from much longer article: Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the first fraternity on Auburn’s campus, and the first SAE chapter in the nation, to require its members to undergo drug testing. However, the fraternity is currently only testing officers, pledges and brothers who live in the house. But officials say it is working up to eventually testing all 120 members. . . . |
If drugs are a problem, drug testing is part of the solution.
Not every organization/chapter will need to go this route but those that feel the need should do so within the law. |
I'm guessing any chapter that does this is a chapter that needs it not at all. What's the point?

And I agree that any chapter who chooses to do this, probably is not a chapter that needs to. But, as a parent, I appreciate their good intentions. |
Not to mention - how much money are they wasting on what is probably essentially a PR gimmick that could go to philanthropy - theirs and other groups'?
