DG-Alabama Colony
 

Does anyone know anything about the Delta Gamma colony supposedly coming to the University of Alabama next year?

I'm not sure if this is set in stone or not, but it appears that DG's colonization will be delayed until fall of 2011 due to delays regarding housing.

I'm anxious to know too. I understand DG will be attending some type of Greek advisors meeting in December to access the situation before making a decision.

Is Alpha Phi going to build a new house, leaving the current one free for DG, or is DG going to have to build?

From what I understand, Sigma Delta Tau still owns the house that Alpha Phi is currently using. The university was to release some land adjacent to sorority row to allow a few new houses to be built. The "older" groups would get first dibs. If they choose to build, the newer groups could buy those houses and remodel...or buy and tear down and build new.
BUT...the university has done very little so far. I had heard they've decided to reduce the amount of land available. But nothing else has actually taken place.
At least...that's what I've heard!:cool:
