Steven Tyler leave Aerosmith

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...uits-band.html

Last good album was 15 years ago. Plus, a solo career after 40 years in Aerosmith? A little late maybe?

It's sad to see him leave the group, but depending on the band, splitting just because you lose the lead singer doesn't always have to be. He's awesome, but I would hope they wouldn't split just because he leaves. I just think he can be replaced. It's going to be hard, but it can be done. Journey replaced Steve Perry with Arnel Pineda. I think his voice is very similar to Steve Perry's. This also reminds me of when AC/DC lost Bon Scott. I like Brian Johnson even better than him. I think it's just a matter of finding someone who can replace Tyler with a similar sound or better.

That's the problem - Tyler's got such a distinct voice. He pretty much IS Aerosmith, which is why I don't understand the solo thing.

Either way, I smell a reality show coming on...

Awesome. Glad I got to see them at F1 before he left.

Wow...that's pretty crazy. I got to see them play with Run DMC just before Jam Master Jay was murdered.

This band jumped the shark when they started singing Diane Warren songs. And that's probably even stretching it. Nobody cares what they do anymore, and about Steven Tyler even less.

Dang. I'm still in love with Joe Perry, though (have been for 30 years)

Given the health problems the band members have been dealing with, I'd have to say I hope they simply close up shop. I saw them in concert 2 years ago, and they put on a great show - but far better to quit before that isn't the case.

I think that I saw that Joe Perry has a solo project coming out too.

I don't really know what Steve Tyler could do as a solo project that won't sound like Aerosmith remixed anyway. His voice and style are too distinctive and too instantly associated with the band. :shrugs:

I really hope Steve Tyler gets like an "Aerosmith of Love" show.

A Shot at Love with Areosmith. Wait, nevermind, that's too music-related for MTV.

They're talking about this on the rock station here and one of the guys said he heard ST is back on heroin. If that's true, maybe he'll put out some music that doesn't suck.

$$$$ that's the only thing I can think of.

Who knows, maybe they might end up like The Doors. Jim Morrison was definitely one of those leads who just couldn't be replaced.

DrPhil 11-09-2009 10:48 PM

They must disband. It is the law of the land.

Must we be reminded of what happened with Journey when my boo left.

The world doesn't need another tribute band.
