Restaurant story :)

This happened last week but I thought I would share. So I am at Perkins last week with a group of friends. we eat our dinner and everything, and all goes well. So we are about ready to get our checks and something funny happens. First off, It was a group of five people and I paid for my own while the other four all went onto one for one of them to pay for. Well we get our check and it is 35 dollars total. So I put in my share and it is all good until the guy who is paying for the rest realizes he has forgot his debit card.
We all pool together with whatever we had on us to try to pay the bill. We ended up 12 bucks short total not counting tip. So a person in our group rushes to see if his credit card still worked which it did but had 20 bucks left on it. So all is well and we are about ready to pay when another person in our group suddenly says "I have a little bit of money, maybe I can help." We all kinda stare at him since we already did pool whatever we had into the fund for the bill so we ask him how much he had since he didn't put any money in the first time. He empties his wallet and there were 50 bucks in there total.

We were so mad at him for not saying anything the first time. especially since after what I had chipped in for my meal, I only had five dollars left for the whole week. We had almost faced the fact of having to wash dishes to make our bill yet little did we know one of our group members had 50 dollars all along.

And so I ask, has anyone else every expirienced something like this before? Or any other funny restaurant stories to share?

I've dated some real jerks in my life (haven't we all).

Was seeing this bass player (starving musician) took him to Pizza Hut for B-day. I was pretty broke at the time, but since I had been a cocktail waitress before, I ALWAYS tipped 20%-still do. We get up and I head to pay the bill. I glance back and he POCKETS THE TIP! I was so PO'd I raked him up one side and down the other. I NEVER took a call from him again. That's the cheesiest thing I've ever seen.

I made him put it back.

I've worked in restaurants for six years now, and I've seen some weird stuff...

Like the woman who had a six-year-old sun, sitting on the patio, eating their food, when he slaps her arm, say's "Titty!" and she proceeds to breastfeed him for the world to see. SIX YEARS OLD.

It makes you reconsider waiting tables...

I work in a pub...the other day we had these jackasses who wanted their order cancelled after it was ready.

Okay, this was in a bar, not a restaurant, but still funny.

I was with two friends on a Monday night, and the special was $1 well drinks. My friends had each bought a round of rum and cokes, and we pounded them pretty quickly. We got to the third round, which was mine, and I went up to the bar with my $4 (Of course I was going to tip).

I asked for three captain and cokes. The bartender got them for me, and says "that'll be 10.50." A bit confused, I asked him why, because I was expecting it to be $3. The nice man explained to me that rum and coke was $1, captain and coke was $3.50.

I told him I only had $4, set it down on the bar, took my drinks, and walked away. Needless to say, I made my friend go up to the bar next time I was supposed to buy a round.
