Donnie Wade's death

Donnie Wade, Jr. was a junior biology major and a member of Alpha Phi Omega. Donnie was initiated into the fraternity by the Nu Sigma chapter at Stephen F. Austin State University in the fall of 2007. I had a chance to mentor him throughout his whole process in which he became a prominent brother who loved service and loved to have fun. He transferred to Prairie View A&M University the following fall semester in hopes of continuing his dream of becoming a doctor. Unfortunately, he was not able to attain that dream, or to see 21. He passed away last Tuesday after fainting from running in a fraternity related exercise. He did nit die under the watch of Alpha Phi Omega, but he was pledging to be in Phi Beta Sigma. It has come to some conclusions by people that this is a result from hazing. Both Sigma Pi of Prairie View and Nu Sigma of SFA have had candlelight vigils to honor his achievements in the organization. I have lost a good friend, and we all have lost a good brother. God be with you Donnie.

I'm sorry for the loss of those who knew him. I don't know if either chapter is using the APO Memorial Ceremony.

I read about this from another Greek forum. My condolences to his family, friends, classmates, and fraternal brothers.
