Websites that sell dresses for cheap.

So formal is coming up in a few weeks and I want to have a new dress for it. I don't have a date yet so I don't really care about matching. However I go to school in "middleofnowhereville" so we don't have any big name department stores nearby and I wouldn't want to get a dress from the local shop because everyone goes there. Therefore, I want to order a dress online. However my budget is only around $50 or $60. So I am wondering if anyone knows any websites where that might have really nice dresses that are marked down. I'm looking for like a "clubbing and dancing" type dress with pizzaz to it, not like a long elegant prom type dress. Hopefully this will also help other girls that are looking for a formal dress. Thanks a bunch !!

Body Central? Not quite sure if that would be what you're looking for... www.bodyc.com

Some places that I've gotten dresses for formals in the past are Charlotte Russe, Deb, and Forever 21. All of these stores have websites that you can order from (just type in the store name into google and they should pop-up). All have nice dresses that range from classy to...well, not so classy, but there's everything in between and most dresses from these websites will fit inside your budget.

Hope this helps a bit!

target.com often has a good assortment "party" dresses. you can also check overstock.com or even amazon and drill down to womens clothing or ladies apparel or something.

I agree w/ Merci11, Charlotte Russe sometimes has surprisingly classy clothes (and I'm an old fart).

If you want to go vintage, I can send you one of mine for free. LOL.

I always send people here: http://shopping.instyle.com/browse/c...-dresses?fl=p9

I have already selected "Cocktail dresses" and price "$50-100". You can change the way you want to sort.

Hope that helps!

Department stores (i.e. Dillards, Macy's, etc) are starting to mark down Homecoming stock around this time. There are quite a few short party dresses for less than $60:

Don't laugh you guys--eBay.

A lot of the sellers buy sale and clearance dresses and re-sell them for a small profit. For a charity ball last year, I got this Ralph Lauren Black Label gown--in the bag, still with tags from Nordstrom--for about 30% of what I would have paid for it. I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear it, and some of my girlfriends have worn it for other events. A few of my friends have scored Badgley Mishcka dresses for about half off original retail. It can be touch and go, but if you find a reputable seller who's selling the items "New with Tags," it can be a lifesaver!

One of the hidden "benefits" of sorority membership - access to your sisters' closets! ;)

Forever 21 always has such cute dress BUT they are always SUPER SUPER short! I wish they would add a few more inches to their dresses...

Definitely check overstock.com (I <3 this site!) and gojane.com.

Places like macys.com, jcpennys.com, and nordstrom.com usually have great stuff in the clearance/sale portions of their websites.

Yeah you can't go wrong with ebay. I witness a $700 wedding dress go for .99 cents with free shipping.

This is a boutique website that sells mens and womens clothing for 2 days at a time (as well as decor and other miscellaneous stuff). Sales start every day, and are gone after the next day. You'll find all types of clothing at fractions of the original price ($350 suit parts selling for $75). It's lots of nice stuff, but invitation only. So send everyone this link and let them find anything they could want. Sign-up is free!
