Chapter listings

Chapter listings with geographical and chronological listings are available at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_Phi_Omega_chapters . Please take a look to see if the information for your chapter is correct including any dates that it went inactive and rechartered.

I didn't know that Gamma Chapter at Cornell had never been inactive. :)

The entire issue of being inactive during WWII is a touchy one. There were some schools where all of the brothers went off to war (and indeed in some cases almost the entire male population of the school) by the Fall of 1942 and when enough brothers returned to campus in Fall '45, Spring '46 or Fall '46, they just picked up where they left off. In some cases, advisors even paid for them to stay active even though they were in Europe or the Pacific...

Also, in some cases the ability to stay active in WWII was related to decisions of the War Department to run Officer Training (like V12) on the campus, which APO was allowed to initiate brothers from.

Given the fact that staying active during WWII was often well beyond the control of the individual chapters, I sort of shake my head at the "oldest continually active" issue...

...oh.

Hadn't even considered that.
