Probation: Phi Delta Theta at Kansas State U
Excerpt from longer article:
A Kansas State University fraternity has been suspended by a judicial board for a September hazing incident in which a student was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. Phi Delta Theta will be on probation until September 2011, will have to pay fines and won't be allowed to host any event involving alcohol until February 2011. In late September, an 18-year-old freshman was found unresponsive at the off-campus fraternity house and was taken by fraternity members to the local hospital. The man recovered and is still a member of the chapter. The house cooperated with the investigation, said Brandon Harder, president of the Interfraternity Council that imposed the penalties. I thought Phi Delta Theta had a "no alcohol" policy for any event sponsored or co-sponsored by the fraternity. I know they have a "no alcohol" policy for their houses. Wonder if national is going to step in?

Ok I'm confused. How do they know this was a case of hazing and not just a freshman who didn't know his limits?

I'm attempting to find where on PDT's website they had their policy regarding alcohol and socials, can't seem to find it. I may have been wrong there earlier LaneSig. At any rate it's a shame that they got put on probation but it could've been a lot worse, for the kid and for them.
