Going Alum
 

Ok, im starting to get a little freaked out here, b/c everyone is saying they had papers filled out and had to do other stuff when they became an alumnae. I filled out one sheet before I left, but thats it
Does anything need to be done by IHQ or is there anything else I need to do because im kind of getting a lil freaked out now? (I didnt have the alum initaiton yet, cuz alums werent around, but its going to be done in April).

Your chapter should have taken care of everything for you if you graduated. I hope I didn't freak you out about going alum with my post in RollCall!

Alumna Status
 

I sent you an email which in part says..as long as you are in Good Standing (fees paid, not being a bad girl, etc.) you are an alumna when you leave school.
((Hope I'm not wrong, lol!!)

Also, as Perm. Sec. of our Alumnae Chapter, I highly suggest
1 - find out your Member ID (Initiation Number) - it helps to update IHQ records (this isn't your LMAD/whatever the term is now Number).
2- no matter where you roam, make sure that your collegiate chapter/alumnae chapter/IHQ have your address
3 - make sure that your LMAD (or whatever it was called when you paid) was actually received at IHQ. Years later, we found out some fees weren't forwarded when the sisters were nominated for Honors of EP.
4- Stay involved whereever you roam!

Thank you both for the responses. I feel much better. I am trying to stay involved even though we dont have a JC or alumnae club here. It says we do but the girl said things just didnt happen. Thats why im hoping they put up the search page soon so I can locate some in my area.

Perhaps you're the person to jumpstart them! The Atlanta Alumnae Chapter was in dire straits a few years ago..low numbers and morale, etc...at the July Convention, AAC won a bunch of awards including Best Alumnae Chapter! So, it can be done!
