im pledging a pretty hard chapter to get into where most of my time in just the first 2 weeks has been takin up by the fraternity, it hasn't been hard but i know some real fucked up shit is on the way can anybody give me some advice?

What makes it a "hard chapter" to get into?

What are you doing that "most of" your time is spent with the Fraternity?

What "f*d up sh* is "on the way"? And how do you "know" this?

If you don't like what you are doing or how you are being treated, you have three options:

1. Speak up
2. Let it happen to you
3. Quit

No one else can make these decisions for you.

TKE Chapter at North Central New Jersey Tech?

Huh?

Well, he posted that question, first of all. Secondly, he posted it in the TKE forum. Fair guess.

The north central New Jersey Tech is what is confusing me.

Directional + Tech School + NJ = extremely "unfratty".

Chances are, the chapter is not going to put you through something they do not think you can handle. With that said, I am going to ASSUME/hope this chapter does not haze. Honestly, if you think it is the right place for you, and you have enjoyed being there these past 2 weeks, then stick with it. Make sure you are getting your school work done though, or else there is no reason to be pledging, because without making the grades, you can't be in a fraternity anyway. I'm sorry but this guy isn't giving any specifics which I somewhat understand, but it's impossible to say whether the chapter is out of line or if the pledge just doesn't have what it takes with out having more than this. Have you bothered talking to your Big Borther, Hegemon, and Prytanis like your supposed to or did you just go posting stuff on the internet? I mean for all I know "hard to get into" means they are very selective which should make it an honor to be chosen.

first off....im writing back to tell u what happened......yes there ws hazing, in the beginning that is, then nationals came in after 50 years of my fraternity doing it the same way as it has always been and FUCKED MY WHOLE CHAPTER UP....me and my brothers were never closer but after we had to change everything it all turnd to shit, we cant have socials or parties now and it sucks......every TKE chapter should haze and if tey dont, even just a little, then they arent truly brothers, just a bunch of fucking pussy losers paying for friends. Fuck nationals i hate them with a passion being a TKE just isnt the same as it was

So many chapters would drag the organizations through the mud if it wasn't for NHQs pulling in the reins and disregarding many of the wishes of shortsighted college co-eds. Most of his chapter probably isn't/won't be active after graduating, so why should the national entity uphold their opinions above all else when it comes to sustaining a chapter for years to come?
