Most Extravagant Rush Events You've Seen/Heard of/Done?
 

So, being new to college and Greek life I must say I was a bit overawed by how "all-out" some of the fraternities went during rush week. In particular, some of the events just struck me as going the whole nine yards and a few extra feet for good measure. Some of the ones I saw and heard of:

• SigEp took their PNMs to an NHL game and one of the more important horse races in the state this year.
• Last semester Sigma Alpha Mu rented out a recently-renovated nightclub for the night.
• The Pikes a few semesters ago (never got a solid date on this, may be just hearsay) rented a yacht and went deep-sea fishing.
• SigEp Fall '08 took their PNMs to a preseason NFL game.

Anyone else have experiences with GLOs going all-out in rush events, or do the ones on my campus just have a flair for the extravagant?

The rush activities at my son's school are pretty amazing, and the big fraternities spend in the tens of thousands of dollars on recruitment. There is no "rush week", the rushing starts in the spring and concludes at the end of the summer. They do the baseball games, the lake weekends, the ranch weekends, etc. but the big event that rushees look forward to is the New Orleans weekend-

They rent busses for the rushees and actives and they rent a club with live music in NO for the night, then they hit the other night spots on Bourbon St., they stay at a hotel (those who actually sleep) then come home the next day.

That is the most extravagant event, and I believe there are at least 4 houses that do it, not sure about the others.
