Big Appreciation!
 

Hello everyone,

My pledge class is working on coming up with ideas to show our Bigs how much we appreciate their dedication and hard work. Since most of you have been members of GLO's for way longer than I've been a pledge, I was wondering if you would mind sharing your ideas for a BIG appreciation? :D

To be completely honest, its really about how you and your Big connect that make the most memorable gifts/signs of appreciation. Do something that reflects this connection and you're bound to get him/her something that will mean the most, be it something you've bought, made, or wrote. The greatest thing I've ever done for my Big was on the back of my Paddle I wrote him a poem that incorporated my understanding of the Fraternity thus far, it wasn't much but it was something that we've come to love about our relationship. Even at such an early stage in our relationship, we were able to find something that brought us together.

I appreciate your response. I think you shared some great ideas about how to make a personal gift to your big. I'll remember that for at the end of the pledge period.

Regarding my post, I meant to say that I needed help coming up with ideas for an all out party for all the bigs and littles. Someone in my class mentioned a one day cruise or just going to the club. I am unsure of these ideas because it seems like it could be a big risk management issue.

Yayyyyy! Haha yeah, it sounds like it to me, too. Maybe ask an adviser for your chapter for ideas. For my chapter, we had to fill out an event planning form and have all of the details planned out way before.

Thanks LucyKKG for your advice. I've been investing alot of time into gathering ideas for this event. I know I've leaned on my big alot and we're only half way through our new member period. I really want to make this event stand out from all the rest, and set a new standard for upcoming pledge classes. Our bigs have been amazing and I really feel they deserve the biggest and best.
