How do you organize a bid day t-shirt order?
I was talking to the President of the chapter I advise (on a campus where currently, only COB is used) about potential formal recruitment options, and we got onto the topic of bid day shirts. We started wondering how chapters order them... or rather, how they know what to order.
If you know who is going to be joining your sorority only a day or two before bid day, how do you order shirts in everyone's sizes? Or do you order a whole bunch of them in all different sizes and have some left over? Just curious! We were having a hard time understanding how this works. Thanks in advance for your responses :) |
We always ordered enough for the chapter and what we projected quota to be for the new girls (based on quota trends from the last year) plus some extras for any other girls we picked up during COB.
We always ordered them in all sizes. You can't really plan the size of the girls, so we ordered an equal number of small, med, and large. |
Sizes would be an issue as much as actual numbers. Order only larger sizes on the theory that a large shirt is better then nothing, or something else?

And this is why I should stop posting after midnight, I don't even see ridiculous typos like that.

When I ordered shirts for my chapter's bid day, I tried to figure it in percentages (well, kind of). I looked at the sizes we needed for the chapter then guessed the # of NMs and split up the sizes. If it was fitted shirts, we had mostly larges, then mediums, smalls, and a few XLs. Make sure you know if it's a fitted or unisex shirt!! One year, the girl in charge accidentally got unisex and ordered all the wrong size. Ironic twist: the slogan was, "KKG Bid Day - A Perfect Fit"

Yeah, that's what I meant... one of those things that sucked at the time, but now, you can smile about it. :) |
