Fraternity Attempts to Restart Campus Chapter
Article in the Daily Californian about Lambda Chi's attempt to restart the chapter at Cal-Berkeley.

They are dancing as fast as they can and an AM ceremony is set for Saturday at our house - the tenants have allowed us to use the living room and we will do so.
|
Hey hoping the best to get our first west coast chapter back. John does LCA still own the house?
|
it sounds just like what the nationals did to get lambda chi back at whitewater, and the elcs did a pretty awful job doing that. those guys are probably going to be an interest group this semester, they will be lucky to be colonized next semester.

Here's another article about housing at Cal, and how LCA and Phi Kappa Psi will share common areas of LCA house. I guess they have the chapter up and running. |
They should have rented the house out to a bunch of GDIs. There is so much noise about Phi Kappa Psi still living in the mu-zeta house. I don't think its a good idea to share a house, even the common areas with another fraternity, I would be expecting a fraternity war to occur.

The lease permits Lambda Chi Alpha to use certain common areas of the house upon adequate notice. What this comes down to is the living room and perhaps the dining room three or four times during the course of the year. We have a great relationship with the tenants and will do everything that we can do to help them succeed - they're in our house, but for the next year it is their house first! |
In reading about the lack and cost of housing at Berkeley it seems to be bringing in funds for the house corporation at least. The only problem I see is when their lease is up if we will have enough members to fill it. There in is another problem! Then and only then will there be a place to call home base where people will know it is the LCA house. Can only hope with a year to grow and build it will work out! Please keep us informed about what is happening out in sunny Ca.

The new Mu Associates are a great group of men. I hope they can grow without using the "house" as a draw. You'd want guys to join because they want to be part of something bigger than themselves, not because they want a place to live.
|
A "cheap place to live" is what got the chapter into trouble in the first place! NEVER AGAIN
|
Intersting, please explain.
