Cheap Initiation Social Ideas
 

Hello All!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. As VP Social Asst. I am in charge of the activity we do right after initiation. The only probablem is our budget is a LOT smaller than it usually is. Does anyone have any cute ideas we could do? In the past we've done ice skating but not a lot of girls enjoyed it since a lot don't like to skate. Besides, we don't have enough money. I'm down to the wire, and the only thing I can think of is to have a "Slumber Party" and buy pizzas, ice cream, and other stuff with the little money we have. Any ideas would be appreciated. :)

I know this sounds cheesy as heck, but how about karaoke? It might be more fun than just sitting around eating (not that sitting around eating isn't a worthwhile activity in itself). :p

I wish we could! I talked to the VP Social tonight, and she says that we always try to go out and do something. ARGH Honestly I'd rather stay at the house and do something fun here!

Buy some of those cheap peanut foam things that are used for packing and cover the floor with them. Then turn down the air way low and now you have a winter wonderland theme.

I am really glad you posted this. We are having the same problem too as a new chapter on our campus. After our initiation we are "planning" to get a house or room at the beach since it is less than an hour away and spend some bonding time with the new sisters. With it being off-season the rooms at Myrtle Beach, SC are only $35 for Executive suites!! I don't know if you are close to the beach or maybe a tourist attraction, but maybe plan to go somewhere and get a room(s) and have a good time.

This may be a little late, but we always used to have a cake for the new girls at the house, and then go out to eat n park for more food. We have a blast just hanging out, goofing around and being obnoxious to the wait staff. The chapter could buy the cake and sodas, and then everyone can pay for their own food at enp...bigs usually pay for littles here.

:eek: Have a social with another fraturnity or sisterhood with another sorority. Thats what we do after initation. We go hang out either at the sorority house or at someone else's house or apt, then go to the social. Its so much fun and its a way for the newly initaited members to meet more of the greek community. And it basiacally cost no money. Only money your spending is on your drink preference.
If that doesnt work out you can always go bowling or go ice skating.
