Question about NPC rules!

How does NPC find out if a woman was already a member of another chapter previously?

There is a girl in my dorm who transferred from NC State and was initiated into a sorority not here. She wants to rush again and get into a sorority here.

How do they find this out exactly? I know that you can only be in 1.

THANKS!!!!!!! :)

Yeah but do they have a way of knowing before recruitment? what if they don't find out before initiation?

Collegians, alums, advisors...they all talk. There's no way to give you a definitive answer because it's not always public knowledge of how they know or when they know.

Even if this gal is initiated into a 2nd NPC, who's to say she won't be found out? She'll lose all sorority membership then! :D

It will catch up with her soon enough....

Well just to let everyone know she did not go to NC State previously, that was a code name :) :)

But she was, however, initiated into a chapter we don't have here.

He He yeah, I had heard of how posting too much true or specific info about your recruitment could hurt you in recruitment

And you didn't think the same thing would apply for your friend who was already initiated into a sorority and is planning on trying to get into another?

Kinda reminds me of the "I'm not a troll...my roommate did it!" threads.

I have told this story on another thread but it bears repeating. Young lady pledges sorority at one State U and is initiated. Sophomore year she transfers to another state and another State U. She decides she doesn't fit with her sorority at new school. Signs up for recruitment and pledges another sorority where she becomes president of the chapter. Several years pass. In passing, mother lets it slip that daughter was president of her chapter of XYZ at 2nd State U. Slowly the story travels until it reaches the ears of a member of 1st Sorority at 1st State U. Phone call is made to National Panhellenic representative of 1st sorority who picks up the phone and makes call to National Panhellenic representative of 2nd sorority and like magic, young lady has lost her membership to BOTH groups. Your friend in the dorm made her choice. End of story!!

Trust me, It's all very confidential :) No worries there!

I just want to know if NPC has a specific way of finding out?

Indeed!

Look, I was able to figure narrow your friend's sorority down to four in a matter of 3 minutes. Oh, the wonders of Google!

Now, any sorority member from your school, which is easily identifiable because of your previous threads in which you mention Appalachian State, can see this and be on the look out for a transfer from NC State.

That's how they find out.

Hmm I see what you mean. At the same time it's silly though. They really should find out a way of monitoring it beforehand.
