older pnm
I was approached the other day with the question and wanted some feedback. Here is the situation: A girl goes to a big southern school and goes through rush her freshman year, gets a bid and hangs out for a while but decides the sorority is not what was presented at all and decides not to become a member before initiation. everything remains cordial between her and members. she goes to school her sophomore year then takes a year off of school when she comes back in what would have been her junior year she has changed her major and is basically a freshman again. she wants to rush again and is curious because she went through once but those girls will be seniors now and she is an older freshman.opinions?

I'm a little confused. How are you a freshman again just because you take a year off and change majors. Aren't the credits from previous years still on your registration record? Wouldn't you still be a junior (or whatever you would be based on credits)? Or is this something that varies by school?

Whether that's an issue depends on the school. There are some schools where this would make it difficult to get a bid, but there are others where it wouldn't matter as much. |
yes that is what i meant. sorry for the confussion. the girl is having a huge major change.so she would have roughly 4 years left of school.

If you're asking whether she'd get a bid to that particular sorority (the one she depledged), we don't know. It would depend on whether they'd want to give her one.
As far as chances of getting ANY bid- it depends on the school. At some schools (typically the more competitive ones), it might matter. At others, it might not. |
