Housemothers featured in American Profile

Nice!

American Profile is a newspaper feature magazine (like Parade). This week's cover story features the housemothers on three campuses: Kappa Kappa Gamma at Washington State; Beta Theta Pi at Oklahoma; and FarmHouse at South Dakota State.

What a sweet article! I wish they had said more about the Kappa House Mom, though. It was mostly about the boys :p

When I retire, I want to be a house mother.

I would love to be a house mom one day too! Here at Ole Miss there have been house moms and house dads (always a married retired couple). I think it would be a very rewarding job.

I always wanted to be a house mom too. With 3 boys, and ALL their friends living and hanging out all these years, I've kind of been a defacto one anyway.

But, next year, when I'm an "Empty Nester" :( - I would love to adopt a whole new group of young men.

Of course, my husband might have something to say about me moving out.... ;)

Ooh, Olemiss - I've never heard of that, but maybe I can talk my husband into doing it too!! He'd be awesome! I wonder if I could talk him into it - need to start scheming now. LOL

Why yes, Tom, you already told us all about "Mom Buck" back in 2005.

I was house mom for a chapter of Alpha Phi for two years where I went to grad school - it was so much fun, I definitely recommend it (if you have the right personality for it!). My college campus didn't have greek housing, so it was so great to watch all the stuff that happened at the house, from the mundane to Greek Week and recruitment, etc. Although I like my clean, quiet house now, I miss being there :(
