ISC/IFC and GPA's

Does anyone out there in an ISC or IFC have GPA requirements? My university is trying to get an ISC going and we are currently going through the work of constructing a constitution and this is a big issue. The ISC will be made up of nationals, internationals and locals and all GPA requirements differ from sorority to sorority. Our Greek Advisor wants to start it off at a 2.5. Does this seem extremely high to anyone else?

The university cannot require a GPA higher than the one authorized by a national organization, because it is up to the national organization to monitor GPA and membership requirements.

The university can require a GPA for locals or regionals that do not have such standards OR have standards but are not enforeced OR whose existence on campus is soley at the discretion of the university.

All NPC sororities have a minimum entrance GPA of around 2.5 for incoming freshman (lower for upperclassmen).

To stay an active member, you must also retain a GPA of at least 2.5 or higher (there are some variations).
