Follow up: "Anonymous" Sorority Rush
A while back a lady posted here, saying that her campus was trying something new this year: "anonymous" recruitment, where the potential new members are not told which house is which. For some reason I am thinking this might have been at UTEP, but I am not sure.
After her initial post, a number of women posted saying that they either tried it at their school before or were going to do so this year. I am curious to know how this concept turned out...? Did your campus try this recently? Did it work? What do you think of this? (Does anyone recall this original post?) Thanks! :) Jen PS BTW, I searched the archives and came up empty--I am thinking this thread might have been lost when GC went down. |
I do remember it but don't know who it was from. On one hand, it sounds like a facinating concept (sort of like uniforms in schools to equalize student clothing)...on the other hand, if I am going to be committing a lifetime involvement, I'd like to know to what group. Since (most likely) every chapter in a sorority/fraternity is different based upon the current members, I'd want to know if the national sorority's/fraternity's beliefs and goals were a match with mine.
