U of Kentucky sorority recruitment

Can anyone tell us how recruitment is going at UK? How many are registered for recruitment and what is quota this year?

My main "source" (alumnae volunteer advisor - or what ever she is called) is out of town this week for work. So I have nothing. I do know that today is the second invite round and the PNMs may attend up to eight chapters.

In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures from the University of Kentucky Alumni Association taken during this year's rush. It looks like the King Alumni House was used by Alpha Phi during the open house rounds.

For more than 21 years the King Alumni House has been Panhellenic headquarters during Rush Week.

This may be the first time that a newly forming sorority held rush parties at the Alumni House.

Great pictures, I'm looking forward to news as the week goes on. I have written recs for several girls, but have not heard from them yet.

Go Big Blue! I haven't heard anything out of UK yet this week either, but will share if I do get any info.

Hi everyone! I don't have exact numbers off the top of my head, but I do know that about 100 fewer girls signed up for recruitment this year than last year. Second invite rounds are tomorrow, with Bid Day scheduled for Friday. It's been a hot week for the PNM's. I've heard very positive things about the Alpha Phi Open House round, and we're all excited to welcome them to campus.

P.S. This is my first post here, & I couldn't think of a better topic than UK recruitment!

Preference round is over. Bid Day starts tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. with the Panhellenic Pledging Ceremony at Memorial Hall.

Go Cats!

are they bringing bags into the house!??!?

DoubleRose 08-20-2009 10:30 PM

I'm guessing those are the Rush Counselors with the bags. The PNM seem to all be in blue shirts. Oops just noticed you are right. I saw the girls with all the bags and didn't notice the purses with the others.

Quota is 69, same as last year. And there were less than 900 women signed up for recruitment, I think less than 700 went into pref. I'm still waiting to hear how the chapters are doing-I can't wait! :)

Woo Hoo. And best of luck today.

I actually know a few girls rushing this year. Well, I should say I know their parents. I have no clue how any are doing but I am sure I'll hear soon enough.

The building they are entering is the King Alumni House and some of the recruitment activates take place there. My understanding is this year, Alpha Phi - who is colonizing after formal - held informational "parties" during the open house round at the King Alumni House. So perhaps the "no bag" rule may not apply.

I don't think that Kentucky even has a "no bag" rule. We carried cute cute bags into parties years ago, and as far as I know, they do still.

I never heard of a "no bag" rule until GC.

Not from this year, but I bet today's UK Bid Day went something like this.

My younger sister's best friend just joined Alpha Gamma Delta at UK :)
