...that there is not more reaction about Michael Jackson's (MJ) death in this forum. I know there has been a lot of press, but this is a big deal to me. I mean, if Supreme Basileus could put a letter on the AKA website acknowedging the tragedy :rolleyes:, why are we not more observant about this loss. I'm aware that the subject of MJ's death was probably posted elsewhere on the forum outside of AKA, but I was determined to get your all's opinion about his death. Besides, I did a search and couldn't find anything.

My entire summer was sad as a result of Michael's death. It is still surreal to me. I knew he was in bad shape, and it was pretty obvious that he didn't have long with all the of the health issues he suffered. But I expected my sorors to show a little more compassion than I found here. (Not saying that ny of you are emotinally stoic and heartless, by the way ...) I'll keep seeing the forum and see if anyone acknowledges his death at all, because I could very well be wrong.

I hope I am not speaking out of turn here, but I will simply say that most of the GCers you knew back in 2000 are long gone. There are other venues for us to use. The GC of 2000 is long gone.

The lack of conversation about Michael Jackson's death should not be indicative of compassion, interest, or anything else. It simply reflects that GC is no longer the hot spot on the Internet for Greeks.

One of the AKA moderators, Ideal08 is my dear, close to life long friend, and is a HUMONGOUS MJJ fan. HUGE, but she no longer posts here but I know that she is mourning the loss of her favorite entertainer's life.

Do you use FB or other online social networking sites? AKAs are there too.:cool:

I, too, hope that I'm not speaking out of turn, but there has been lots of discussion about and reaction to MJ's death on GC in numerous threads. Those thread just weren't necessarily in this forum.

Prior to this one, you could have always started a thread to invite discussion on the topic.

I think the official LA doctor has already called this one, no second opinion needed.

Uh, AlphaFrog, don't attack me. I didn't mean it in THAT sense. When I used the word opinion, I was referring to their REACTIONS to Michael's passing, ... not their opinions on HOW he died. :confused: How you interpreted my words in that way is beyond me, but maybe I used the wrong choice of words. (And if you'll read some of my other posts, you'll know I don't like starting drama nor looking for it, ... but I see you don't mind trying to start it up. :mad:)

Thank you, MysticCat. I didn't even think to look outside of the Alpha Kappa Alpha forum. I guess, at the time, I was only interested in what my sorors thought. But I'll make sure to do a general forum-wide search next time. It's been a minute since I've hung out here, and sometimes I forget that we are all over this place.

Also, what CT4 says is true; and I would say that the some of the responses that you have gotten in this thread are part and parcel of the reason why.

I will indulge your tomfoolery only once to inform you that I was not starting drama there, ... I was merely trying to rectify a situation. But you wouldn't understand any of that, as I don't think Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority actually has any perps. :rolleyes: Which leads me to wonder why an Alpha Sigma Alpha person lurks an Alpha Kappa Alpha forum anyway. To be quite honest, I have absolutely NO interest in YOUR forum, so why bother ours? I guess it's just something about us AKAs that lures ALL women. :cool:

Absolutely, soror. I had forgotten it was one of the main reasons I stopped hanging out here as often. But I miss the forum and the REAL fellowship among greeks, ... those with good intentions at least. I'm glad to see we have all managed to keep our sanity. :D

Because on GreekChat, pretty much everyone reads and posts in everyone's forums, unless a thread specifically says "For XYZs only."

Well you're right, MysticCat. I've been known to comment here and there on some other forums myself. I don't exactly frequent any particular greek sororities' forums, but your point is well taken.
