If you would've looked around the site a bit, you would've realized that it's considered a faux pas to request a rec from strangers online. And, btw, you'll have a better recruitment if you go into it open minded, as opposed to focused on one group. |
Where to start?
a. kddani is ABSOLUTELY right--it's a BIG no-no to come here asking for recs. We don't know you! You could be cool as hell, but you could be a psycho-killer, and we can't vouch either way. She's right about not picking favorites, too. What are you even basing that on? I mean, Chi O's got a beautiful website and I respect them very much based on the sisters that I've met, but you have to meet the chapter. b. This one's a pet peeve and grinds my gears. One female: alumna. Two females: alumnae. One male: alumnus. Two males or a mixed group of males and females: alumni. c. Do a search. There's tons of great advice already here. d. Sororities are HUGE, and you never know who might be a member. Have you talked to family, teachers, friends' parents, and church members? Maybe someone who can ACTUALLY vouch for you could write you that rec. Good luck. |
I agree-go into rush/recruitment with an open mind. You could look on the Chi Omega website, decide those are the ideals that you stand for and want to be a part of, then meet the chapter and realize that you don't fit in at all. Different chapters of different sororities can vary so much and you need to go in with an open mind to see which chapter will be the best fit for you!
Hope this helps- Kelly |
