No, but it might be a good idea to keep your mind open to all chapters on campus, rather than just looking at three chapters before recruitment even begins.

Agreed. Especially since your user name includes both your school and your first name. It'd be a shame for your opportunities to be limited because ASU Greek women recognize you as wanting only one of those three groups.

It might be a good idea to be a tad more discreet with recruitment season right around the corner. (That is, assuming ASU has recruitment in the fall.)

Ha thanks, but i already thought about that, nicole isn't my "real" name! And i am going to be a sophmore, so i kind of already scoped out the houses i like.

And they may have scoped you out, too.

If you are only looking at a few houses, you GREATLY increase your chance of disappointment.

its not even like that ha i really like about 7 of them, but i know the gpa requirements for the rest.

Of course you do. You just happened to not know the GPA requirements of only the three top houses.

AXO- 2.5 College 3.0 High School.
Theta - I believe Theta may be over a 3.0- they usually have the highest GPA on campus
DG- probably around the same as AXO

Worry about a chapter's minimum GPA says that your academics may not be up to snuff (otherwise, why would you be worrying?). If your grades are low enough that this is a concern, you certainly need to have an open mind. Even if you just make the minimum GPA doesn't mean that your low GPA might hurt you. For instance, if it's between you and another girl, and she has a 3.8 while you barely squeak by, and you're equal in all other aspects, the chapter is going to pick the girl with the higher GPA.

All the more reason that you need to keep an open mind about all of the houses.

I know, my GPA could be better, however if they look at your credts, i have taken 18 credits each semester, so hopefully they take that into consideration, but you make a very good point!

Actually i may have them lying around somewhere, if i scrounge them up i can PM you. Meanwhile here's a link to chapter averages. These would be a pretty solid guideline.

So AXOrushadvisor, why did you suddenly decide to create and post under a new user ID?

Way to be discreet.

Are you really a sophomore? This looks a little like a sophomore - in highschool, texting her friends, not a college women on a college website. I'm calling shenanigans.

No. They don't care you took 18 credits. 18 isn't really that many, anyway.

violetpretty 07-19-2009 03:58 PM

By the way, it's sophomore.
