Fall 2009 Expansion

Lambda Chi will be re-colonizing this fall at the following campuses: U Cal-Berkeley Mu-Zeta, Arizona State Zeta Psi-Zeta, and Drexel U Epsilon Kappa-Zeta. If there are any that I missed feel free to add them to the list.

ASU

I had not heard about ASU. That will give us the following west coast colonies: UCLA, UCSB, Idaho, Cal, ASU.

ASU is an interest group started by Lambda Chi from Denver U who tranfered there, the group already has 28 members and got the go ahead from HQ.

ASU is back? Yes!

I met a bunch of them on a road trip to Tucson for Watermelon Bust back in 1996. They were a blast.

It was really sad to not have any chapters/colonies in the state of Arizona. I'm glad to hear that growth is back.

It's also good to hear about UCSB. I passed by the house in 1998, but it was in the middle of summer so I didn't bother to stop.

ASU isn't back yet, but I find it gratifying that we will have a host colony at the 2010 General Assembly

Hey, it's a start.

Many very determined alumni have worked very hard to bring Lambda Chi Alpha back to Franklin and Marshall College. Greeks have been doing great things there these past few years, and rechartering a fraternity there is going to really help continue to change things for the better. This was the Alpha Theta chapter and was active from 1917-1980!

Alumnae or alumni?

WOW, thats great to hear alums of a chapter thats been dormat for 30 years are organizing. do they still have a presence by tailgating and other events or are they just trying to create something inorder to come back to?

LXA started out as an eating club at F&M, so they reorganized the eating club. I'm not sure how many men are in it now, but the fraternities # are currently much smaller than the sororities, so it will not take a lot of men to make it competitive. I actually think they will get a lot of great men b/c it is a new option for men on this campus, something they need. I am really looking forward to the outcome!

Either 40 men or the campus average, whichever comes first.

So what your saying is that there currently is an interest group forming, or that they have already formed?

At the Atlantic Conclave this year, there was an alumnus representing F&M. They have restarted the original eating club (and meet with alums) on a regular basis. I'm not sure, but I think one of the challenges will be the University. "ilovetheviolets" seems to have good info. Will the university accept a new fraternity?
