This is so sad. I have so many memories from this place, as I'm sure all my fellow UGA Greeks do!

It bummed me out when I saw it too. I hope they elect to rebuild, but who knows whether it will make sense to.

My favorite part of that linked article is the line explaining how the fire was reported. A guy was walking home from a party. . . at 7:00 a.m. I love Athens, Georgia.

ETA: my second favorite part is The Mayflower just carried on without power, cooking on their gas stoves.

This makes me so sad! Georgia theatre and the 40 watt were such fun places in college. I feel like crying.
