Does anyone have any new information regarding DG at University of Alabama in 2010?

Council has placed it on hold for the moment, from what I understand. Recolonization has not been cancelled...they are waiting to see how things shape up with the economy, enrollment etc. And for the university to resolve some land issues.
At least that's what I've heard through the grapevine!

My sister is a junior at Bama and she told me recently that the rumor is floating around that DG is coming this year instead of in 2010. I told her that wasn't the case, but she is certain that is what Panhellenic has told the chapters.

Well, the latest online issue of the Greek newsletter, edited by Gentry McCreary -the GA, says 2011. Whether that is true or not, no one knows. But I can assure you that it is NOT this year.

I can't believe she is a junior already! It seems like just yesterday you were regaling us with her recruitment story. :)

I'm anxious to see what DG and UA decide to do. My daughter plans on attending UA in the fall of 2010 as a freshman. She hasn't decided if she will rush, but the idea of being a charter member is enticing to her, especially since she is a DG legacy, and an out of state student. We keep hearing about the intensity of rush at UA, and it would be nice to have a new chapter as a rush option. Looks like A Phi had a great rush and colonization, I expect DG will as well.
