Friends?
Would you be friends with people in real life that are in a different glo that you talk to on here? Especially if the person you were friends with was in a rival glo on you campus? I think many older greek wouldn't care like me because once your out of school it is not much of a deal. Actives are iffy though.

honestly, i have friends that in all of the GLOs at myown school and other schools - what is right for me was not right for them and vice versa - but that doesn't mean i don't like them as a person and want to be friends with them.

I will be friends with almost anyone..one of my situations:
I came to college w/ my best friend..we roomed together and both rushed our first semester....we both wanted Phi Sigma Delta...i was extened a bid..he was not..but he was extended a bid from Delta Sigma Phi...our rival...but we are still best of friends...and I hang around with a lot of of the DSP guys..... I also have quite a few tke friends.....and other friends in other glos.....but I have more friends that aren't associated with any glo, than i have friends that are assoicated. d |
My best friend is a Gamma Phi, I'm a Chi O. When we were in school (a million yrs ago! lol)--we were biggest rivals-- typical pref by rushees was Chi O- Gamma Phi. But we were still best friends and still are now!

I just graduated 2 years ago, but during the time I was in school, my best friends included some of my AOTT sisters, some Alpha Xi Delta girls, and a Sigma Kappa. We were all rivals when it came to rushing girls, but we were all best friends inspite of that. We would DEFINATELY have times when we would say "okay, I am talking to you now as my best friend, not as an AZD(or Sigma Kappa, or AOTT) and then we knew that this was best friend time. That kind of relationship took an strong amount of trust, but we pulled it off. And as I have said in numerous posts, it was all of those women AND my sisters that made me who I am today and I would never have had such an awesome college experience without them. Yes, the bond of your GLO sisterhood(or brotherhood) is wonderful, but it shouldn't completely define you. I am just greatful that I went greek--that to me is the strongest bond of all.

i went to a formal dance (not 'the formal) of another fraternity with their their unofficial lil sister because my best friend from high school was in that fraternity, so yeah, I do well with friends in other fraternities

I live with two Tri-Delta's so the answer is yes. :)

EASY QUESTION!
HELL YES!!!
They are Greeks!!!! Maybe not my Fraternity But still yet Greeks!!! They did more and will always do more! I have several Reps who call on me and I always ask about their Chapters and their people, pass along the greekpages.com site and Of Course the GC site! May different Orgs But Still One In The Same!:) |
I can get along with just about anyone. There are certain orgs on my campus that I can't get along with, but that's because most of their members do things to alienate themselves from the rest of the Greek community.

I am an alum so things are kind of different for me now. My chapter was pretty selective in who we hung out with and partied with. But I had friends in almost every fraternity and sorority. Some closer than others. We did have a few rivals and most either hated us or loved us. It was one of the two extremes. I made a friend through a job I had in Calif. for a short time. He was an alum(not my school) of a fraternity that was our rival in school. Or at least one of them. I think it just depends on the person and as you get older things change. I would have to say this website is definitely great for greek unity.
