I would be confused...

I just thought of something...if there ever was a campus that had a lot of fraternities, it would be confusing for freshment i bet. Because, for instance, there is a Delta Sigma Phi, and a Phi Sigma Delta. A Sigma Phi Epsilon and a Phi Sigma Episolon...plus a few that start with Pi Kappa......I'm glad i don't go there...i wouldn't have known where the parties were.

yah I hear ya. I bet freshamn don't know the differencet from Alpha Gamma Delta form Alpha Delta Gamma until they see girls at one house and guys at the other. When I first heard of Alpha Delta Gamma I thought the person messed up and meant Alpha Gamma Delta.

LOL...Delta Sigma Phi is probably because our names are the same..only in reverse order...we also have a Delta Sigma Pi on campus..a service fraternity....
Confusion from our campus
Phi Sigma Delta
Delta Sigma Phi
Delta Sigma Pi
Phi Sigma Kappa
Phi Sigma Rho...

LOL...it's crazy....

We thought it was funny on our campus to have both Kappa Sigma and Sigma Kappa. Always made the freshman a little confused

all on your campus?

AlphaGam1019 10-03-2001 02:33 PM

It's actually alot easier to keep up with these group with nicknames or shortened versions!

ZTAngel 10-03-2001 04:35 PM

There's also Alpha Epsilon Phi and Alpha Epsilon Pi. And the nicknames are AEPhi and AEPi. That's also pretty confusing!

aephi alum 10-03-2001 09:34 PM

ZTAngel, tell me about it. AEPi had been on my campus for some years when we brought AEPhi on... some folks just saw an A, an E, and a weird greek letter, and figured we were little sisters of AEPi, or dating AEPi's, or whatever.  Occasionally we also got confused with Alpha Phi, since Alpha Phi had been on my campus longer than any other sorority.

We had Kappa Sigma, Sigma Kappa, Phi Sigma Kappa, and Phi Kappa Sigma. The poor freshmen were so confused... you'd ask a freshwoman which sororities she was rushing, and she'd say, for instance, "ummm... Alpha Phi and Kappa Sigma?" :)

It could be worse! In the 50s Sigma Kappa absorbed (sp?) Pi Kappa Sigma.

damasa 10-04-2001 01:03 AM

that is just too too much intake.....imagine if all these were on the same campus....Oh my..the poor frosh. LOL
