Peterborough Ontario?

Hey all!

Just curious about sororities in Peterborough Ontario. I am going to school there and am interested in being part of a sorority.

I have done alot of searching and have only found one sorority that appears to be active. I wanted to know if there were others I haven't run into yet since I want to make an educated decision about who to rush.

Does anyone know if there are any national sororities around here? The only one I ran into is the local Delta Phi Nu; they have only been around since 2008 I believe.

I know there is a national fraternity in town; Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Any help would be most appreciated. I find it hard to believe that there weren't any sororities in peterborough previous to 2008!

Thanks PenguinTrax. I just checked out all of the sororities listed on that site.

Unfortuneatly, none have chapters in Peterborough. It doesn't even show Trent University or Sir Sanford Fleming College as having any greek life organizations. Which is strange because I know there is the men's Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. The local sorority Delta Phi Nu isnt listed either but I can't expect the site to have all the locals listed.

I may have to go with the Delta Phi Nu. I am hesitent to because they have only been around for one year though. I am sure they are great so don't think I am dissing them for that. I imagine it took alot of work for them to get set up.

I was hoping there was another sorority to compare with. It doesn't seem right to me that there is only one in town when we have a university and a college here.

Does anyone else have any advice?

Haha! No I am honestly just trying to find another group in Peterborough.

I don't have a group to market...I wish I did! lol

What is Silmy? ... another Peterborough sorority? That would be great!

Do you know if they have a website I can check out OTW? (Is Silmy the group name or an acronym?)

If you're trying to join a sorority, then why does your profile say "I love my sisters"?

And why do you have the same spelling errors silmy had? And what's with the email address?

33girl, my profile says I love my sisters because I am part of a casual online myspace group. That is where I got my username. The girl that started it named our group Theta Nu Theta. We consider each other sisters but I really want to be a part of a real life sorority where I can do philanthropy in as a group and such.

OTW, what does QFP mean? Sorry if I am being ditzy or something but I don't get it.

Xidelt, what do you mean spelling errors? ...Ok, nevermind. I just copied and pasted everything I wrote into a word document so I could spell check it. It seems I had errors in writing hesitant as 'hesitent', isn't as 'isnt' and a lot as 'alot'. I didn't think that spelling would be a big deal so I didn't reread before I posted. I put the email address in my signature so that hopefuly someone would write me about sororities in Peterborough. I was just being hopeful!

...Oh. I just realised you meant Silmy was a person not a sorority. Geeze, I feel kinda stupid.

Also, why does everybody seem so mad at me? Honestly! I came to GreekChat.com to get help with finding a sorority to be a part of. What did I do to offend everybody? I didn't think someone that wasn't already in a sorority would be so unwelcome here.

Hey Everyone!

Just thought I would give an update on my sorority search!

Turns out Peterborough has more than the one sorority I heard of previously! I am super excited about this.

Here is what I found!

Delta Phi Nu

I have sent an email to each of these groups asking about their recruitment proceedures, requirements and other info.

Wish me luck in hearing back from them!

Also, I still intend to continue looking for sororities in Peterborough so that the most well-informed choices are made, so if someone does know about another sorority in my area I would love to hear about it!
