2009 fsu rush
I am considering rushing for a sorority this upcoming fall as a freshman at FSU. I have wanted to rush for forever, but my one fall back is i have some family things going on back home and i know i will probably want/need to go home one or two weekends a month for first semester at least. would this be a problem within the sorority? would my time commitment with the sorority be too much to achieve this? Because i would LOVE to rush, i just want to make sure its the right decision

As a new member, you'll likely have alot of different activities to attend including new member meetings, community service events, social events, etc. Many times, events will be held on weekends. I don't know how FSU sororities do everything, but I know that at my school, alot of the important events (NM ceremonies, Initiation, recruitment workshops, etc) were on weekends because those were days that we knew mostly everyone could come. Really consider whether you can take on the time commitment BEFORE you go through recruitment. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to go rush, get a bid, then have to depledge because you don't have time for it. |
