Glenn Beck ambushed on The View

For those of you who like or dislike Glenn Beck, the first clip shows why I don't watch The View that often...

The 2nd clip talks about the actual Hot Topics-Barbra goes postal on Glenn.....

What do you think?

I watched it this morning. He wasn't ambushed.

Including clips on his website makes people biased. Watching it when it actually aired on TV, or even a full youtube of the appearance without his side commentary, is a better foundation for an opinion.

Who cares?!

I saw it. To be completely honest, Whoopi makes me giggle most of the time. Doesn't mean I agree or disagree with her, but I laughed when she called him a "lying sack of dog mess" and I hope I can use that in the future.

LOL

I find it hard to believe that guests don't know what they will encounter on The View. That's why it's all about publicity and none of them are truly ambushed.

It's like guests leaving the O'Reilly Factor angry. Have these people never watched O'Reilly? LOL. (I love that show)

Who is Glenn Beck?

Exactly - when you choose a show with a certain history, and they've been consistent in their views (no pun intended) for a number of years, you shouldn't be surprised by the reaction.

I can't stand "The View," and the hosts are annoying as all get out; but there's nothing surprising about the way they treated Beck.

I love The View and watch it almost every morning. If you watch the show enough, you see that they balance each other out very well and not every interaction is fiery. It really depends on the "hot topic" and who is saying what.

On another note, people have started to compare any show where people are talking over each other and having fiery debates with The View. But, there have always been shows with male hosts and guests that have talked over each other and had heated debates. I think that people just don't expect that from women, and that's why it annoys people on The View. If it were men doing it on The View, I think people would find it more entertaining or informative.

I agree that it's like any other debate show that you might see on the cable networks, but there are very few of those types of shows that I enjoy. I was never a huge "Crossfire" fan, and I don't watch a whole lot of O'Reilly (even though I found him interesting in person), Olbermann (ditto), or any of those.

If I'm going to watch or listen to something regarding political debate, I'll watch "Meet the Press," C-Span, or listen to some of the programming on NPR.

I dont watch The View unless I am flipping through and see someone of interest on the show. I am not suprised this happened. It happens to every guest that comes on that show with a moderate or right of center viewpoint because the hosts on that show lean to the left. They didnt ambush Obama or his wife when they were on the show before the election. I know people on here disagree with me and that is fine, I am just stating my opinion!

I think others are right however making the comments about guests seeking publicity when going on the show and The View seeking ratings. Remember the debacle between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump regarding the show? 100% publicity/ratings stunt (though I dont really care for either). I believe The View had record ratings during that time.

In my (limited) experience, this is quite true, but it always seems "forced" to me - like the argument is for the sake of argument, rather than pure philosophical differences. It's important to note, though, that I don't think the panel skews one particular way on the whole - just that in the specific, it seems a little forced. Kind of like every other such show.

I'm sure this is the case for many -perception/reality, etc.

I think it depends on the topic. Some topics may not interest all of them or warrant much discussion. Whoopi and Sherri are very calm, so the fire usually doesn't come from them. Even Barbara is tamed most of the time.

LOL. Did anyone watch this morning? Larry King was on and Barbara SEEMED to be giving him a really hard time over why he didn't get in contact with his adult children. She was saying he's a nice guy so why'd he have grown kids that he doesn't talk to. He said he didn't have an answer for that. It made me uncomfortable and I actually stopped what I was doing and said "damn, Barbara." Then she said "in case anyone thinks I'm giving you a hard time, this is all stuff you discuss in your autobiography, we wouldn't know and be able to ask unless you divulged the info." And he agreed with her.

Why is this newsworthy?

Because some people only get their news from The View. Which is rather sad.

Or Glenn Beck. Equally sad.
