Snake head found in broccoli

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,519308,00.html

There is a picture attached so be warned. Mods, if this has already been posted and I overlooked, I apologize.

I think it is admirable that this guy didn't decide to sue. I think I would have been traumatized. I'm a little nauseated now thinking about it.

Mainly though I don't understand how something like that slipped by. I understand how a spider or fly could get in unnoticed, but this thing is a different color and it isn't terribly small. Seems like it would have been noticed at some point before it got on his plate.

Wow, that's crazy. I do agree it was "refreshing" that he isn't going to sue. I would at least try to get free meals for life from TGIF...although I'm not sure if I could eat there after that.

I was thinking about that. I definitely think he should have been offered more than that one free meal, but like you, I don't know if I would have wanted to eat there again after that.

I remember AXO Alum having troubles with TGI Friday's: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...hlight=Fridays.

On the other hand, now I know what happened to my ex.

*shudders*

How do you NOT notice that?!

Better question -- how the hell does a snake head get into the kitchen in the first place? That's sick.

It IS sick. And I get the feeling they are trying to place most of the blame on the suppliers.

It's a good thing it was mixed in with vegetables (more noticeable). Can you imagine if it was in a stew or something?

Yuck. And what does it say that when you say "snake", I immediately think of Sigma Nu and Sigma Kappa.

that's the most disgusting shit ever

even if your supplier sends you brocoli with a snake head, you have enough staff/pressence of mind yourself to not bring it to the customer. That's the prep cook, line cook, kitchen mgr/exec. chef, server/waiter/waitress, general mgr., FOH mgr., and possibly a food runner that would have/should have seen that.

It would have taken one of those people to simply throw out the offending cranium to avoid this entire thing.

Not only should they be closed for being gross (as hell), but it's obvious (at least to me) that they didn't have any grip at all on what was going on with their restaurant.

Speaking of snakes -- I haven't seen a "wild" snake in several years, but saw 2 today. WTF? Guess that's a sign that I probably need to stay away from Fridays for good...
