Man Accused of Throwing....

Baby from Car: Child Dies... Are you serious? What is this world coming to?

Tampa, Florida (10Connects.com)- Florida law enforcement officials say a man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend's baby son and threw the boy from his car as he drove along Interstate 275 early Tuesday morning.

The man was caught not far from the scene. The baby did not survive.

Not long after 9 a.m., police say someone spotted Richard McTear, Jr. on or around Arlington Avenue near Tampa Heights. Officers say McTear was taken into custody without incident.

As officers led McTear into a sheriff's office holding area, he shot profanities at journalists.

A reporter asked "How can you throw a baby out the window?" He replied: "It's a dirty game." He paused, then repeated himself: "It's dirty game."

McTear was already wanted for a past kidnapping charge before this morning's incident, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

McTear and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a domestic violence altercation in the nearby Marbella Apartments at around 3:15 Tuesday morning, deputies said.

The woman told deputies that during that altercation, McTear took her infant son and threw him down onto the concrete. After that, McTear took the boy - three-month old Emanuel Wesley Murray - and drove off in his car.

Around an hour later, a photojournalist on his way to work spotted the baby's body along the side of Interstate 275.

Jason Bird, a photojournalist for Fox 13, said he was heading into work an hour earlier than usual when he noticed what he thought was just trash or debris in the road's shoulder.

But the image of a face stuck in his mind, he said.

Hoping it was just a baby doll, he looped around on the interstate and called his office. When he returned to the scene, he could tell it was the body of a baby.

Initially, Bird thought the baby was a girl, but deputies say they've confirmed the body to be three-month old Emanuel Wesley Murray.

I'll bring the lighter fluid. What a bastard.

Sometimes I think that, in a case like this, true justice would be served to set him on a street with people who realize what scum this jerk is - no holds barred.

That poor child - three months on earth and killed less humanely than a sick animal.

Lock him in a room with inmates who can't see their children...they will make short work of the bastard. Then fry his ass

I won't say he is a man because he isn't. He is a f*cking coward. REAL MEN do not beat up on women and children

Just toss him in a room with inmates, period. There won't be enough of him left to fry once they get done with him.

It's pretty sick. I watched the news, here in Tampa, and couldn't believe it. When they were walking him into the police station, the reporter asked him why. He replied "It's a dirty game".

I heard about his statement... and how much controversy it caused. He deserves the worst penalty.

Florida is fourth in executions. I like those odds.

As a parent, stories like this make my blood boil. This man (and I use the term loosely) deserves the most inhumane death penalty punishment allowable. Drawn and quartered, anyone?

I want to vomit.

God bless that poor innocent child. :(
