Alumni interaction

Do any of you chapters alumni help you out or drop by and see you? Usually at my chapter its the younger alumns that help the most but some older alumns are still a great help.

We've had a lot of help so far with alumni. According to our faculty advisor, at least 60-80 will be here for Homecoming, and we've already had several donate things (tent at the stadium, a lodge for use during homecoming, a lot of time contacting all the alumni we have addresses for...). So far the alumni have been TREMENDOUS help in starting our chapter back up.

Make sure you fill out the thank you cards and maybe throw them a party. Got to keep alumni happy so they keep on coming back to help.

Yeah, we were planning on having more of a "get to know the actives" party kind of thing at the lodge during the homecoming parade. We'd planned on throwing them a party too if we can find somewhere to throw it.

Try maybe a college bar. Some bars will let you rent out free if you promise to buy a certain amount of alcohol.

StrokerTKE 10-01-2001 03:00 PM

Yeah, i suppose, but the problem with that is you have to be 21 to get into bars here, and most of the actives are like 19 or 20 (including me till like a week after homecoming). If we did that only 6 of us could be there.

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 03:01 PM

Oh thats sucks I had no idea. You only have to be 18 here to get inot bars. I guess you might have to rent out somewhere or go to a brothers house with a big yard.

StrokerTKE 10-01-2001 03:04 PM

LOL...ya...we did that for Induction. Only problem with that is....the neighbors didn't like it too much (we weren't loud or anything)....

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 03:11 PM

Well they will just have to live. Make sure you get proper permits and they can't stop you from doing pretty much anything even if you loud.

StrokerTKE 10-01-2001 03:12 PM

Ya...after induction we went out and started getting as many permits as we think we might need lol

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 03:13 PM

Its better to be extra safe because you might not ever know whats going to happen.

StrokerTKE 10-01-2001 03:22 PM

Yeah...too bad we learned that one the hard way.

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 03:24 PM

What happened did you get in trouble for something?

StrokerTKE 10-01-2001 03:29 PM

Well, we decided to go somewhere secluded for induction, so as not to make anybody close to us upset for being loud or whatever. So we decided to go to one of the active's aunt's houses, and do everything outdoors. Well...apparently the people accross the little pond thingy got upset that we were bein loud (we weren't really) so they called the police. Now, the stupid thing is the police showed up while everyone was in their cars on their way home. Nobody really got in trouble, but it was a pretty big inconvenience to those people who were still there at the time.

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 04:49 PM

That sucks, glad you got in no trouble.
